Welcome to our annual Iftar dinner at the “Islamitische Stichting Nederland Academie (Turkish Islamic Foundation Netherlands Academy) (ISN Academy)” for resident Ambassadors of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). It is also an honor to have Special Envoy Ambassador Madam Ten Tusscher, National Coordinator Mr. Baldewsingh, Chairpersons Mr. Köktaş Mr. Driss El Boujoufi with us. I extend my best wishes for a peaceful Ramadan.

The ISN Academy was officially launched at the end of last January, as the research and documentation branch of the ISN. That launching marked a significant milestone not only for the ISN, but also for the Muslim Dutch communities, as well as for all those who believe in the values of inclusion, mutual respect and shared humanity. I believe the ISN Academy will be undertaking a very important role in the Netherlands, as it will focus on issues such as inclusion, identity, youth, education, Islamophobia and discrimination.

Excellencies,

As Ambassadors, we have a unique role in fostering mutual understanding between nations and cultures. Our responsibility extends beyond diplomatic circles. We must work with governments, civil society and international organizations to build bridges. Dialogue and engagement are key. We must encourage open conversations between different communities and reinforce shared values that unite us. In this framework the OIC with 57 member states and nearly 2 billion people, has a special importance.

In this regard, I value the work and efforts of important institutions such as the office of the Special Envoy for Religion and Belief, the National Coordinator against Discrimination and Racism, and the CMO. I would also like to thank Madam Ambassador Ten Tusscher recent visit to Türkiye.
